Detentions
Many students brag when they get a detention in middle or high school. They might act mad at the teacher and write an appeal form, but they are only scared of the consequences at home, for a lot of middle schoolers, getting their phone taken away. Afterwards they might go and tell their friends about how ‘mad’ they are about getting that detention and many others, but they are only bragging about how bad they are.
When asked what she would do in front of the teacher after she got a detention, Frannie said she would rip it up. When asked what she would do in front of her friends. she answered with “I would tell them how many detentions I have received and brag about them so I could be the big bad girl on campus”, When another student was asked the same question she answered with a lot of similar remarks.
So, are detentions really a bad things? They are not punishment enough. Sitting in complete silence for 40 minutes is not that bad, especially if your friends serve it with you. The real reason that kids are mad once they receive a detention is that their parents will not be very happy to hear the news.
