Parents are suppose to be there to help their child and let them go through things and learn on their own. Kids need to experience things to learn. No matter how many time parents tell them “Learn from my mistakes trust me i know how much this can affect you.” They won't listen.
About 5 months ago this reporter did not have good grades at all. When she got her report card all you could see was 60% or below. She didn't care what her grades were, all she wanted to do was sit on Facebook and hang out with her friends. One day her mother came into her room, she was furious. She came in and stood there with a piece of paper in her hands… it was the report card. The mother said to this reporter “You really need to get these grades up or you are going to not get into a good high school and I am not going to care at all because i tried to help you, you just don't want my help. trust me you will be happy once you get your grades up. you dont want to be a high school dropout like me.” The reporter just ignored what her mother told her and went along doing the same thing.
Later on in the year this reporter was called into the principal's office to talk about her grades. The principal told her if she doesn't get her grades up by the end of the month she will not pass and she will have to redo the 7th grade. Thats what made her realize that her grades really are important to success. This reporter did get her grades up and passed. She also realized that she should have listened to her mom but she wanted to feel like that to believe it...
I liked it you did good, but I kind of disagree.
ReplyDeleteYou did an EXCELLENT job with explaining what was going on in your story and why everything was happening. I also totally agree with what you said. Good job! :)
ReplyDeleteyou did a great job but as Emma said i kind of disagree because kids dont always learn by them selves.
