These violent games don’t prove, but do show suspicion that they cause violence in the world, mainly from gamers. It is very likely that a violent gamer could after playing the game, act out the actions from it. These games could also teach people smarter ways how to rob stores and get away with it without leaving any trace of evidence. Some games inspire people to do violent things a little more than others, such as “Payday 2” which is a game about robbing small stores, banks, etc... and is an addicting repeated process. When people buy the “Payday 2” collector's edition, the box not only contains the game, but it also contains what I would call a “starters robbery kit.” This is because it comes with a mask and gloves. After someone bought the collectors edition, they used it to rob a McDonalds with 1 other partner, and he got away unidentified.
This isn’t just about the game “Payday 2,” though. Yes, it was an inspiring game, but we don’t know if it was the only one. Many other violent games are being acted out all over. For example, one of the heists from GTA V was acted out shortly after the game came out. It was four people acting out the jewelry heist, and even though they didn’t try to actually rob anything, they still acted it out close by a jewelry store. Some people got scared and called the police, but they didn’t know that it wasn’t real. This shows that these actions can still affect people’s lives.
In conclusion, this shows that it is likely that violent games can influence gamers to act out these themes from them. When people act out, or actually attempt these violent actions, they actually affect others lives, such as if someone is getting robbed, it could have affected how they behave around co-workers, their boss, and family. Also, when people do something as harmless as acting out a violent crime, it could turn into a harmful action, such as them persuading any other people who probably don’t play violent games as often. This shows that violent games can really have an impact on someone’s life.
About the author: My name is Nick King, I am from Premier Charter School in 8th grade. I am not against violent video games. In fact, I play violent video games way too much to the point where you could say that I live in their world. I’m not against any violent game, I’m against who plays the game and copies its actions, and I’m against what the game provides, supporting the point that ‘Payday 2 Collector’s edition’ had a mask and gloves.
