Video games are not harmful for teens

Fire your weapons, Lets go! Well now that I have everyone's attention I would like to say that for years people have been debating weather or not video games are harmful. Well I’m here today to tell you that the answer is no. Games are not what's causing the violence. And if anything these games are helpful.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen helpful I say. “sales of video games have more than quadrupled from 1995-2008 while the arrest rate fell 71.9%.” Yes I have just blown your minds, these games actually have decreased the arrest rate.
Not to mention, the average gamer being 32 years old. Dont you think by then gamers would have had a sufficient amount of time to mature?
Now, back to my point that videogames are helpful. We must all face that we live in a world full of tragedies that are shown in these games. These tragedies could vary from earthquakes, to bombings, or even shooting. Electronic games children play are full of these things. So aren't our children being prepared for the world as they play games like Call of duty or Grand Theft Auto? We are being taught to problem solve and persevere through these games, all skills we need for life.
Now, some parent like to teach these skills in other ways, but those parents may forget that the best way to teach children to be strong and persevere is to teach them at times, there may be no other choice. And those who always problem solve and persever are those well prepared for life.
Now as I wrap this speech up, I would like to leave you with the goal of all parents, and that is to raise children who are well prepared for this life. As sad as it is to say it, this life is not perfect, so these games are preparing us for this un perfect life.
