STEREOTYPING

 Stereotyping is a big issue that occurs a lot. It has become something that we do without even thinking. No matter who or where you are there is some sort of belief against you. There really is no reason for this except people being lazy. Instead of people meeting everyone who is a particular race you could just meet one person and say that whole group of people do certain things or act a certain way, which isn't always true.

  As a muslim man walks down the street on his way back from getting groceries a woman stares at him in shock. He notices her glare but keeps walking trying to ignore it. When he got closer the woman grabs her sons hand in fear. “Go away!” she screamed. “You murdered my family!” she shouted in disgust.

 The man kept walking with his head held high, he wasn't happy with what she was saying but stayed quiet. The closer he got, the more she screamed at him.

Since he was distracted by the woman, he dropped what he was carrying. Nobody stopped to help him, accept for a young teenaged boy, that the man knew. He picked up as many items as he could and returned them in the bag with a nice smile. He then walked over to the woman and explained to her that she should stop saying hurtful words. After a while she stopped screaming at the man, took her son in the car,and drove off.

 “I have to get home to”,the boy said.

“yeah I don't want to keep you long”,answered the man.

 “I just have one question”,the boy mentioned.”Why didn't you react when she was wrong about you, I would have said recist thing right back to her”,the boy questioned.

“If you show disrespect and and go down to her level, the only thing you will ever prove is that shes right about you, and she'll continue to believe the you are a bad person.”

 Stereotyping isn't good for the person being stereotyped and the person stereotyping, it should stop.
