It was Sunday, October 17th, approximately 6 P.M. in the Decker household when all of a sudden, the power goes out. The children got scared and the dog started barking, but Samantha Decker knew there was a very logical reason for this. She suggested maybe it was because she was using her hairdryer. Alexis came in and said, “ No no, it was because i was using the toaster and the microwave at the same time.“ Tara knew that wasn’t the case because she said it was hailing outside and maybe something hit the power cord. Then 5 year old Allan told us he had threw his ball at the wire and that’s why it wasn’t working. While sitting here debating on who did it, the grandmother says, “Why aint y’all looking for some flashlights or somethin’ ?” After that everybody went and got candles, flashlights, & lighters. The family sat around each other in the living room while Tara and Samantha went to check the power box. They went outside with flashlights and umbrellas. When they got in the basement to flip the switch, they saw two big rats. So they ran back upstairs in fear. Later on, James Decker arrived. They told him what happened and he went downstairs to turn the power back on.
This was a really fun story to hear. I enjoyed it, it made e want to keep reading. The problem with power outages is really common in St.Louis. Overall, I really liked your blog!:)
ReplyDeleteI am guessing your message is don't go assuming things because it's not always the first thing you think it is or hear. The newscast was was exciting and filled with mystery and I like how it had a twist.
ReplyDeleteI have a question, Was it the rats fault or...? Good Job though! :-)
