It happens all over social media….. offensive comments. Because it’s on the internet it spreads faster, and more and more people see it. When more people see the comment the larger the group of offended people become. When it get’s to the point where everyone is talking about what was said there comes an apology. The problem only gets worse when the apology is fake.
When a homophobic comment was said by a popular viner , people were outraged. There was an apology but it was forced. There is an ongoing issue with fake apologies all around the world.
The same thing happens when people say racist or sexist comments. Most of the time it’s looked over but sometimes it’s not. When it’s not looked over the person sometimes will only apologize so they don’t look like a bad person. In reality a forced apology is worse than no apology.
Its worse because they are only apologizing to try to fix their image. They don’t really feel bad about what they said they just want to make it look like they do.
Fake apologizes also don’t make the people they offended feel any better. They still feel offended by what the person said. They might even feel more offended than they did before.
Another problem with fake apologizes is the fans stand up for the wrong thing. They will support a person who says terrible things, but they don’t realize what they are doing. They think after the person apologizes it’s over. The truth is it’s not and they keep supporting the person. Not only does it make them also look like a bad person, it makes them look stupid.
One more issue with fake apologizes is the person doesn’t learn that what they said offended people. Sometimes it’s more people than they think and they don’t even care give to give a real apology. They won’t learn from their mistakes and many people know that. When the learn about what they did they will probably feel bad and want to make a real apology, but it happened to long ago and people forgot about it. There is also the possibility that they never learn from their mistakes and they never thought they did anything wrong.
The last issue with fake apologizes is some people don’t even care, they just want to be in the dama. They will say something about what happened just so they become involved. The only reason this is happens is because that person is getting more attention than them. They want to be the center of attention,so the add themselves in. When this happens the problem only spreads more . People like this sometimes cause forced apologizes. They put pressure on the person and they have to do something about it. They could do the right thing and make a real apology , but that doesn’t always happen.
That is why there is an ongoing issue with fake apologizes. They happen every day and probably will continue to happen for years. Until people learn to do the right thing and apologize for what they did, or just not say anything at all, will always be fake apologizes.
Good job, i totally agree with you about the "fake" apology's.
