A game that a bunch of high schoolers made up and now high schools in New York City are playing this violent game. A game that can last up to a couple weeks and that involves killing. This killing game where kids team up put their money ($20.00 per team) into the game and kill each other and the winner can get up to 300 dollars. This game is very well planned just for entertainment. This violent role playing game should NOT be allowed to be played.
I think they should not be able to play this killing game because the article states that sometimes the kids playing this game sleep at the playground of St.Ann’s . Also the article says that they sometimes play this game really late at 10:30 PM. That can conflict with their education not getting enough sleep. This can decrease the education of the students.
Also during this game someone can get hurt if they take the game too seriously. also someone could get very hurt by playing this game. These kids are taking this game so seriously it could break out into a fight or someone could fall or get hurt during this game.
I don't think a group of high schoolers should waste their time playing this game. This game does not educate them it will not benefit any of the players this is just for pure entertainment. Some people might argue this will educate them and show them how to defend themselves and what the real world is like and etc. But when high schoolers play this game do you really think that they are thinking that this game is educational? This game will not help them with school . This violent game is just like when my brother my brother plays video games, he sits in his room for hours playing shooting and killings games that does not benefit besides the fact learning gun names.
The fact that these high school kids take this game more serious than school may concern some people. For example, it says that they have created a seventeen-point rule book, a map of the safety zones around the school, an entry fee, a pie chart of death, and order of killing assignments. They can plan all of that out but high school kids still complain about homework. This goes to show they take this game more seriously than their education. Also some people claim that video game violence can cause violence in the real world. For example, Erik Kain says “ A mass shooting in Washington, D.C. in which an angry, mentally ill young man shot and killed a dozen of his fellow students”( Erik Kain, Forbes, pg.1). This can prove that video games can influence kids and also, who teaches kids how to use a gun besides a video game? No one.
But in the long run these games will not educate the kids help the kids. This game will just waste their time and their money and decrease their grades. If you had a kid would you want your kid staying up until 10:30 pm playing violent games killing games?
