On September 23 at approximately at 11:35 a.m in the gym of Premier Charter School I observed one of the 4th grade classes. The lines that the 4th grader were placed in for their activity, 2 of the lines were arguing with each other. One line said “we won because our line is the fastest”. The other line argued back that their team was right behind them and were barely falling behind. The kids kept going on and on about which line won and which was the fastest. Line number 2 thought they were slow and weren't as fast as the other line next to them. So, the next race line 2 ran, skipped, jumped as fast as they could. When both lines finished line 2 ended up winning and was arguing with the other line again saying, “look whos slow now”.
When Mr.Valandra came over after he overheard what the kids were arguing about he told them that,”there's no winner or loser the game is just for fun and exercise”. He wanted the students to apologize for arguing and thinking one line is better than the other. The students apologized for saying they were slow and not fast enough, the kids were very happy knowing everything was okay and they weren't “known” as being slow from the other kids. By the time gym class was over the 4th graders were friends and forgot about what happened during that game and just went on and had fun the rest of the day they were together.
good job. You found the smaller story inside the big story.
