The Tree Incident

   I look up to see many branches and leaves all around on the massive Oak tree right in front of me. But then I notice Jr demonstrating how to harness myself in. I had to ask him to repeat it again so I understand the instructions he gave to me. All harnessed in I climbed. I kept climbing  then I noticed they kept watching as I climbed higher and harder. When my mom came out that got my attention and I shouted down to her “ Mom”  while cringing at the same time. Then , I saw the blisters and cuts as I got higher to where the rope ended I sat there and admired the view thinking I might fall. But soon my mom yelled “Time to go.” I started to repel while Brayden climbed up bit by bit but soon he gave and said, “I going back down.” When I finally reached the ground though Jr was standing there and he commented,”You made it.” I was thinking to myself I made it truly I made it I didn’t quit.

I did but when I looked down I saw my blisters grow more agitated as I moved my hands to unharness myself. But when I yelped my mom moved to come help unharness myself. Right then, I knew I would have a giant bruise on my thigh from running smack dab into the tree when I tried to turn around to make it easier to go up higher but also from the harness rubbing my thigh. When we were  about to leave I saw him harness into the one I had been in smooth move. I climbed that tree knowing there were going to be obstacles and it was going to be on-going for awhile until I made it all the way up. My mom was glad I used the harness for safety procussions.

   This happened on September 21st, 2014 at my moms cousin Tristen’s house. But knowing my dad he had something to say. In which was “Why didn’t you wear gloves?” that was the only question he had really. That made me question if he really cared or not. But he also made me question was it worth wearing a harness. Then I thought to what Jr said, “ It’s important to wear a harness because you can end up paralyzed.” Thinking yeah that was a good idea to wear a harness.

   I don’t know what they were thinking but I made it that was all that mattered in my mind. So if you put your mind to it you can make it a good distance in life.
