These teenagers should be able to play this game because its just for fun, also it’s just played with water. There are people that think this game is a little too violent, because “killing” your friends with “guns” will lead to other things. “Protell took a car to Newark Airport, found the victims before they passed through security, and dispatched them using two bathtub “squirt fish.”(Martin, 2009, pg.1). The children only shoot each other with water gun squirt fish, so I think therefore this game isn’t that all aggressive.
In the real world we all know that we have people that go out and actually do commit crimes, some worse than others. Some researchers believe that “If young men- those who are most likely to commit dangerous acts- are kept busy in front of their tv’s and computers for hours on end. They will be too busy to go out into the streets to commit real violent things.” (Dashevsky, 2013). Video games that are violent are sometimes good because it isn’t real, so most likely people will kill on video games instead of the real world because it tends to be more exciting for them.
In the end, I think people shouldn’t worry that much about the children participating in that game because it’s not as dangerous as it really could be. The students only play it for a celebration and for fun, you don’t really see anyone getting hurt with water guns, so it’s pretty safe. It turns out that, others may think that these games shouldn’t be played by children because they feel like they might get the wrong impression and actually go out in the real world and “shoot” people. I think that these kids and other people that decide to play games or video games like this, is acceptable.
